On July 12th 2019, associating with Australian Commerce Chamber and German Commerce Chamber, PW & Partners held a lecture about environmental law in The Canton Residence. The event drew attendance of quite many foreigners who work in high positions of Australian or German corporations. Ada Wang, partner of PW & Partners, gave the opening speech.

For the first part of the workshop, Richard Zhang, lawyer of PW & Partners gave a lecture with topic “Environmental Protection Taxation and Compliance”. Through some vivid cases, Mr. Zhang interpreted what environmental protection taxation is, how it works and the high-light points to attention to a company for the compliance in an easy-understanding way. 

While James Peng, executive partner of PW & Partners, was in charge of the another half of the workshop and gave a lecture regarding “How Corporations Should Respond and Deal With Administrative Investigation and Punishment On Environmental Protection Issues”. Mr. Peng shared some big data of administrative punishments for environmental protection, as well as the common administrative investigation scenarios and advice and methods to handle them. He also confirmed the current legally managed market in China and the importance of compliance with environmental protection. During the workshop, Mr. Ozzie Ou, lawyer of PW & Partners, also shared a successful case dealt by PW & Partners for a company to annul an administrative punishment on environmental issue. 

Along with the transformation to high quality development, China demands more attention to environmental protection from the companies in local. Fellows from PW & Partners performed effective communication in fluent English with the foreign invested companies about the environmental protection compliance. Many audients expressed their gratitude to this fruitful evening, and they would put the knowledge into company management practice. Some companies’ representatives even would like to work with PW & Partners for more cooperation to ensure better running in China.
