In order to build a communication platform for the transnational corporations and related governing departments in Guangzhou for exchanging experience and information of intellectual property protection, Guangzhou Association of Foreign Invested Enterprise held the “Exchange Meeting of IP Protection of Transnational Corporations” at Tian He Building on 2nd August, 2019. The attendance includes the director of the Guangzhou Commercial Exhibition Promotion Service Center, Mr. Li Xiao ming who is the vice executive chairman of Guang zhou Association of Foreign Invested Enterprise, Mr. Zhao Hong xing, the director of the Laws and Regulations Division of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Mr. Ding Wen xiong, the chief officer of the IP Protection Division of Guangzhou Development District, James Peng, the executive partner of PW & Partners and chairman of Foreign Related Consultancy Committee, Ada Wang, partner of PW & Partners as well as the representatives of nearly 20 transnational corporations in Guangzhou.  

Chairman James Peng hosted the meeting. He firstly introduced the Foreign Related Consultancy Committee of the Bar Association and its functions and expressed that the Committee sincerely welcomes more opportunities to communicate with more enterprises in person to learn demands and solve problems for the enterprises. 

Guangzhou Barrister of Foreign Related Affairs and partner of PW & Partners, Ada Wang, gave a presentation about the latest development tendency of China IP protection, including the current status, the change of judging organs for IP cases, 3 sensitive points of IP protection as well as the latest legislative information about anti-unfair competition law and antimonopoly law. Ms. Wang also pointed out that the refinement of the anti-unfair competition law has completed the definition of commercial secret violation. Electronic seduction, abetment and aid now all belong to violation of commercial secrete. Enterprises should utilize such clear regulation to design their protection system for the commercial secrete to protect their rights and interests.
